A bag is an essential and important part of any woman’s wardrobe. It says a lot about who she is, her style, the way she moves through life. Our bags are about living life to the fullest in all it’s moments, big and small. It’s about simplicity and freedom of expression, hand in hand.
Heritage design, ease, and living are at the heart of Chaz LaRue. Our women wear our bags because they go to the market, meet friends on the go, run to the gym, all in one day. In the midst of these sometimes mundane moments, play, movement, and fun are always present. They’re important elements to who we are – expression rooted inside a world with classic sensibilities.
Refinement lives inside a world that leans into nostalgia – a sense that there’s a story and heritage within the story of Chaz LaRue – just as denim is a heritage material inside the American story. It lives well in everyday moments, is for everyone, and has stood the test of time. It’s our daily muse, and where are story started.
Chaz LaRue was inspired by my late grandmother, Jackie (or Nana to me). She is remembered in our family for many fun adventures from her lifetime, but one of my favorites is when she decided to reupholster a chair using multiple pairs of denim jeans. The local newspaper came and shot this photo of her, my mom and my uncle. I was always inspired by her creativity and the way she never let anything stop her from seeing her ideas through.
Jackie was a collector of beautiful items, particularly purses. To this day, all of the women in our family wear her bags daily and have so much fun being able to say “it was nana’s”. She lives on with all of us in many ways, but her purses are one of the most tangible, which inspired me to design the Jackie Bag in denim.
We hope to carry on Jackie’s legacy with this bag and that you and your future generations can experience the same inspiration from your loved ones.
